| Our Role | Congregation-Based Organizing | Rural Grassroots Organizing | Workforce Constituency Development RCI also works to foster leadership development and community organizing efforts in rural and urban neighborhoods throughout the San Joaquin Valley by finding and equipping leaders who have a passion to make a positive difference in their communities. In the past 18 months, RCI has achieved the following: - Helped found the Tulare County Immigrant Support Task Force, which is working on immigrant leadership, health and safety issues in Tulare County.
- Partnered with the Tulare County Agricultural Worker Health Coalition to develop a comprehensive health initiative, which includes an Agricultural Worker Leadership and Institutional Collaboration component.
- Helped organize a community leadership association in Ivanhoe, a small community in Tulare County, that is currently organizing to confront gang activity and other community development issues;
- Helped launch a grassroots association in Firebaugh that is building its community leadership base and working to address local health concerns;
- Conducted a Spanish-language community organizing training in Cutler-Orosi with over 70 rural leaders in attendance.
