also works to foster leadership development and community organizing efforts
in rural and urban neighborhoods throughout the San Joaquin Valley by finding
and equipping leaders who have a passion to make a positive difference in
their communities. RCI
has achieved the following: -
Helped found the Tulare County Immigrant Support Task Force, which worked
on immigrant leadership, health and safety issues in Tulare County.

Partnered with the Tulare County Agricultural Worker Health Coalition to
develop a comprehensive health initiative, which had an Agricultural
Worker Leadership and Institutional Collaboration component.

Helped organize a community leadership association in Ivanhoe, a small
community in Tulare County, which organized to confront
gang activity and other community development issues;
- Helped
launch a grassroots association in Firebaugh that is building its
community leadership base and working to address local health concerns;
- Conducted a Spanish-language community organizing training in Cutler-Orosi with over 70 rural leaders in attendance.
